Thursdays at Three: Graduate Medical Education in NY – Key Metrics

September 25, 2025

Join us for an informative webinar, where we’ll dive into the current graduate medical education (GME) environment in New York using actual statistics and applied metrics. We’ll also discuss the overall physician need for the state of New York and New York’s national role in the education of future physicians. In addition, we’ll briefly describe the payment drivers and key metrics applicable to teaching hospitals and revisit available funding strategies for growing GME that were created by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. Lastly, we’ll outline operational decision making that affects GME reimbursements and program funding.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the need for additional GME and the impact on New York’s healthcare delivery system.
  • Identify funding opportunities that will allow your organization to help build and/or expand GME programs in New York.
  • Discuss why New York’s existing health system environment makes the state an ideal place to operate GME programs.
