Swing Bed Programs: Understanding the Basics
July 22, 2025Swing bed programs provide flexibility by allowing rural and critical access hospitals (CAHs) to use their beds for both acute and post-acute (skilled nursing) care. In the first session of our swing bed webinar series, we explore the basics of swing bed programs, including the latest Medicare regulations, patient eligibility and technical requirements, and benefits for patients and providers. We’ll be joined by Dena Klockman, Eastern Plains CFO at Banner Health, who will share insights from her organization’s swing bed program experience.
