WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rob Hartnett of Forvis Mazars has been elected to the Hedge Fund Association’s global board of directors. Hartnett is a tax partner with Forvis Mazars’ asset management practice, based in the Washington, D.C. market.
The nonprofit Hedge Fund Association (HFA) advances transparency, development, and trust in alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate and wealth management firms, institutional investors, family offices, and service providers. HFA’s global board members are all industry executives who serve for up to two consecutive three-year terms.

Hartnett has more than 25 years of experience providing tax and related consulting services within the asset management industry. Over the years, he has provided services for hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds, commodity pools, open-end and closed-end funds, and various private placements and fund structures. Hartnett consults with clients and attorneys on fund tax issues, including the startup, formation, and ongoing operational issues of a fund; state tax issues; U.S. tax withholding issues; taxation of financial products; transactions; and tax law changes.
