MINNEAPOLIS – Forvis Mazars LLP, one of the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States, has added Jill Nelson as a partner in its healthcare reimbursement practice. Nelson is based in the Minneapolis office, which is part of the firm’s Northwest Region.
With more than 25 years of progressive leadership in healthcare consulting, Nelson has consistently delivered impactful results in Medicare, Medicaid, performance improvement, and financial operations. Before stepping into her most recent role as managing director in the professional services sector—where she led hospital and healthcare reimbursement strategies—Nelson served as a senior reimbursement analyst within a highly regarded integrated healthcare system in Minnesota. This organization featured a safety-net hospital renowned as an academic medical center, further underscoring her depth of experience.
Throughout the past decade, Nelson has actively contributed to the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), holding various board and leadership positions, and currently serves as Minnesota HFMA President.
“Adding Jill to our team as a healthcare regulatory partner is a direct reflection of the momentum we have built across the Midwest and in our Northwest Region,” said Rachel Dwiggins, managing partner. “Demand for our services is fueling growth, which gives us an opportunity to continue to build even more support for our teams and the ways in which they deliver an Unmatched Client Experience. We are pleased to continue investing in the Minneapolis market by adding leaders like Jill who truly understand the local, regional, and national healthcare market.”
“Our Reimbursement & Regulatory Compliance team at Forvis Mazars is focused on delivering innovative regulatory advisory services to hospitals and health systems throughout the region and nationwide,” said Joe Watt, partner. “Jill’s extensive track record of success will strengthen our ability to provide the level of insight, responsiveness, and leadership our clients expect.”
Nelson’s HFMA leadership connections and deep industry knowledge will help accelerate regional expansion and create new opportunities in regulatory reimbursement matters related to cost report compliance, strategy, and the Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement programs.
“I’m excited to help build on the strong foundation Forvis Mazars has already established across the Midwest and throughout the country as we continue to help our clients navigate an increasingly complex reimbursement environment,” said Nelson.
