David Tate to lead Healthcare Consulting at Forvis Mazars, and Jennifer Williams named Louisville market leader

News Release // 03-24-2026

Forvis Mazars LLP, one of the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States, has named David Tate as managing partner of the firm’s Healthcare Consulting practice. He succeeds Kevin Locke, who is retiring effective May 31.

Tate brings more than 30 years of public accounting and leadership experience to the role. He previously served as the managing partner for the firm’s Louisville-Southern Indiana practice unit and has been with Forvis Mazars for two decades. He will remain in Louisville while taking on his new national duties.

Partner Jennifer Williams has been named the new market leader for Louisville.

New National Leadership Role

In his new role, Tate will guide strategy and operations for more than 250 team members serving thousands of healthcare clients nationwide. In 2025, the Healthcare Consulting practice at Forvis Mazars was ranked among the top 10 largest healthcare consulting firms in the U.S. by Modern Healthcare. The practice continues to grow with the recent addition of The Innova Group on March 1, adding nearly 50 team members and enhanced client service capabilities in strategy, finance, and facilities planning.

“I am honored to lead such a talented and diverse team as we help our clients overcome complex challenges and achieve their unique visions for success,” Tate said. “The healthcare landscape continues to rapidly evolve, and our expanding team is ready to help clients adapt and succeed as they seek to better serve their patients and communities.”

“David’s breadth of experience in the healthcare sector and his proven leadership as a trusted consultant and mentor make him an ideal choice for this national role,” said Brad Brotherton, national Healthcare sector leader. “David has led through times of significant change and has deep operational and industry knowledge. I am excited to see where he will take our Healthcare Consulting practice in 2026 and beyond.”

Tate is a member of the AICPA, a member and former board member of Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a member and former president of the Kentucky Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association. Louisville Business First named him a “Partner in Health Care” in recognition of distinguished service in support and development of the Louisville healthcare community.

Tate is a graduate of University of Kentucky, Lexington, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

New Market Leader for Louisville

Jennifer Williams succeeds Tate as the market leader for Louisville. Williams is an audit partner with more than 20 years of public accounting experience serving clients, primarily leading audits of various large multientity healthcare and nonprofit organizations, including hospitals, community health centers, colleges and universities, and religious and membership organizations. She also serves various nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, and foundations with complex gift and donor agreements, federal funding, and significant investment portfolios that include alternative investments.

“Jennifer’s passion for mentoring others and experience across such a wide range of industries make her an excellent choice for the leadership role in Louisville,” said Jim Creeden, managing partner of the firm’s Cincinnati, Louisville, and Southern Indiana practice unit.

“This is an exciting time for the Louisville market, and I am honored to lead our team as we help our clients grow and continue to unlock their full potential,” Williams said. “We have been truly energized by our recent move into new office space in the PNC Tower, and we’re glad to support the continued momentum of downtown.”

Williams is a member of the AICPA, Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Healthcare Financial Management Association. She serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana, volunteers for Metro United Way, and serves on the steering committee for the Tocqueville Society.

She is a graduate of University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, with a B.S. degree in accounting.
