Kevin, a partner in the Insurance Practice, possesses more than 20 years of public accounting experience, concentrating on the insurance industry. Prior to joining Forvis Mazars, Kevin worked for two international accounting firms for nine years where he served both public and private insurance companies. He has served various sized clients, including both public and private entities, life and annuity, property and casualty, self-insured, and warranty providers. Kevin has a unique skill set to provide in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry.
He routinely provides non-attest services to clients in purchase accounting (PGAAP), IPO readiness/preparation, and financial statement modernization projects. In this capacity, Kevin works with clients to establish or refresh management’s discussion, analysis, and footnote information included in public filings. Kevin also assists clients with technical financial statement issues on both a U.S. GAAP and statutory basis, including the implementation of new accounting principles, guidance, or regulatory requirements, PeopleSoft ledger conversion, due diligence, conversion from one basis of accounting to another, e.g., statutory to U.S. GAAP, infrequent or unusual transactions, and other technical issues as they arise.
Kevin serves as engagement quality reviewer for attest clients where he provides technical support to the firm’s public clients and transactional support based on multiple years of merger and acquisition experience. Kevin serves as the professional practice partner for the Insurance Practice where he provides technical assistance to the firm’s other insurance partners or on insurance industry matters.
He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Florida Institute of CPAs, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, and National Association of Insurance Commissioners. He is director of the Carolinas Chapter of IASA.
Kevin is a graduate of University of North Florida, Jacksonville, with a B.S. degree in accounting.
