He helps clients understand and quantify the financial impact of disputes, misconduct, and unexpected events. He has served in both testifying and consulting expert roles. His assignments have been heard in federal and state courts, in arbitrations, and before regulatory agencies.
His work focuses on commercial damages and accounting investigations. His industry experience spans oil and gas, insurance, manufacturing, retail, real estate, and construction. He is frequently engaged to analyze royalty payments, evaluate disputes between working interest partners, and assess the financial consequences of contract interpretations. His broader engagements have included asset and cash tracing, lost profits analyses, post-acquisition settlement calculations, personal injury damages, white-collar crime, and the examination of high-volume accounting data. His cases often involve financial loss measurement, valuation issues, or allegations of fraud.
Previously, Jim was a partner at a regional accounting and economics services firm. Earlier in his career, he practiced with various global professional services firms.
He is a certified public accountant, a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
