Forvis Mazars announces new chief talent officer and board additions

News Release // 06-05-2025

Forvis Mazars, LLP, ranked among the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States, is pleased to introduce Amy Smith as chief talent officer, the addition of firm leaders Tim York and Fran Randall to the U.S. Governing Board, and the addition of John Kmetz and the appointment of Rob Pruitt as vice chair to the Forvis Mazars Global Network Board. The changes took effect June 1.

Chief Talent Officer

Amy Smith joined Forvis Mazars in December as chief talent officer-elect, serving alongside CTO Lori Haley to ensure a seamless leadership transition ahead of Haley’s retirement on May 31. Smith is a member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to CEO Tom Watson. Amy joins the firm with over 25 years of experience in human resources and operations leadership across multiple industries. Prior to joining Forvis Mazars, she led all talent functions as the chief human resources officer for VillageMD.

“I am grateful to join an organization with a culture that values employee experience, continuous talent development, and being your best self,” Smith said. “Our firm and our teams are clearly well positioned for exciting growth opportunities, and I look forward to helping our people unlock their full potential in the years ahead.”

Governing Board

Partners Tim York and Fran Randall join the U.S. Governing Board, which is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the firm.

York is the firm’s chief growth officer, serving on the firm’s Senior Leadership Team, and has been with Forvis Mazars for more than 30 years. He becomes chair of the Governing Board, succeeding Matt Snow, who has served as board chair since 2022 and retired on May 31.

Randall is the national practice leader for the firm’s International Tax service line and has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting.

“Thoughtful succession planning is an essential element of our firm’s focus on stewardship and long-term success,” said Watson. “I am grateful for the many contributions Matt and Lori have made over the years, and I look forward to working closely with Tim, Fran, Amy, and the rest of our board and leadership team to ensure we continue to thrive in the years ahead and unlock new opportunities for future generations of our partners and team members.”

Global Network Board

Partner and Chief Practice and Innovation Officer Rob Pruitt succeeds Snow as vice chair of the Global Network Board. John Kmetz joins the Global Network Board as a new member. Kmetz leads the U.S. firm’s national assurance and SEC practices and has more than 25 years of experience in client service and leadership roles. The Global Network Board consists of ten members from across the globe who help drive the Network’s strategy, support seamless collaboration worldwide, and advance efforts to help clients anticipate what’s next.
