WASHINGTON, D.C. – Forvis Mazars LLP, one of the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States, today announced a $200,000 donation to Special Olympics International through the Forvis Mazars Foundation. Special Olympics is a global movement dedicated to ending discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities (ID) through the power of sport, health, education, and community engagement. Through year-round sports training and athletic competition, health programming, leadership development, and inclusive initiatives, Special Olympics empowers millions of athletes, Unified partners (athletes without disability), coaches, volunteers, and supporters around the world.

The Forvis Mazars Foundation focuses its charitable giving on three pillars: health and wellness, education, and food security. This contribution supports the foundation’s commitment to advancing athlete wellness by helping Special Olympics provide year-round sports training, athletic competitions, and inclusive opportunities for individuals with ID, empowering athletes to realize their full potential on and off the playing field.

“Special Olympics helps millions of athletes build confidence, improve their health, and strengthen connections within their communities,” Watson said. “We are honored to support an organization whose mission creates meaningful and lasting impact around the country and across the globe.”

In addition to the financial contribution, team members from Forvis Mazars across the country can volunteer with Special Olympics programs and events in markets where the firm operates throughout the coming year. Service activities also will be incorporated into the firm’s annual IMPACT Days next summer, further strengthening the connection between the firm’s people and the communities they serve.

“Our partners and team members are inspired by the work Special Olympics does every day to promote inclusion, wellness, and opportunity,” said Jim Regnier, regional managing partner and executive sponsor of the Forvis Mazars Consulting Region Foundation. “We are proud to support its mission through both financial support and hands-on volunteer service.”

“Health and wellness are essential to Special Olympics athletes because we need to be healthy to train, compete, and enjoy sports at our fullest potential,” said Novie Craven, communications coordinator at Special Olympics International and Special Olympics District of Columbia athlete. “We are grateful to organizations like Forvis Mazars who help us on our journey.”
