Roy is the managing partner of the Forensics & Valuation practice unit. His focus is litigation consulting work with attorneys, providing advisory services for the business, accounting, financial, and damage calculation aspects of complex commercial- and construction-related matters. These matters may include business interruption, lost profits/loss of use, breach of contract, and professional liability.
He also advises on various tort matters, including calculation of economic damages for personal injury, wrongful termination, and wrongful death. Roy has been designated as an expert witness and qualified to testify by report, affidavit, deposition, and/or trial testimony in various venues including the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the Middle District of Alabama Southern Division, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of Virginia Norfolk Division, the Court of Common Pleas in various South Carolina counties, the Circuit Courts of the Sarasota Florida Family Law Division, Montgomery County, Alabama 15th Judicial Circuit, and the probate court, Charleston County, South Carolina. Roy has served as a neutral related to various business and accounting disputes including purchase price adjustments. He has provided testimony for the American Arbitration Association and FINRA Dispute Resolution Services.
Roy is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Phi Kappa Phi, South Carolina Association of CPAs, National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts®, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Inc. He is past chairman of Summerville Family YMCA and past chairman of the board of trustees of Pinewood Preparatory School. He is adjunct professor of The Citadel’s business administration department.
He is a magna cum laude graduate of The Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina, with a B.S.B.A. degree.
