Julie has more than 20 years of experience focusing on employee benefit plans, including audit services, special report preparation, and other consulting projects. She trains staff members to identify major plan audit issues and helps clients understand plan documents and better comply with Employee Benefits Security Administration requirements. She has been a member of the firm’s employee benefit plan internal inspection team.

She has identified areas of improvement for clients to maintain compliance, including items such as eliminating prohibited transactions due to late employee contribution remittance, understanding eligible compensation definitions to follow, and understanding correct eligibility and vesting for participants. She also has identified missing contributions and distributions for multiple participants, missed expense credits to plans, and health claim overpayments resulting in refunds and assisted with corrections. Julie has helped plans comply with the plan document by assisting with corrective measures, directly communicating with the IRS and U.S. Department of Labor, and working with these agencies during their audits.

Julie is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Indiana CPA Society and holds certification for Advanced Defined Contribution Plans.

She is a 1999 graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, with a B.S. degree in accounting.
