Howard heads the real estate tax practice in the U.S. at Forvis Mazars. He has more than 20 years of diversified tax and financial consulting experience, delivering operations guidance, tax solutions, and transactional support to real estate owners and operators, private equity funds, and real estate investment trusts (REITs).
He advises clients on the acquisition and disposition of real estate, merging subchapter C corporations into REITs prior to a public stock offering, minimizing taxes, preparing and reviewing REIT qualification tests, tax compliance, analyzing operating agreements, and structuring dispositions.
Howard is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Bar Association, and NareitĀ®.
He is a graduate of Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York, with a B.B.A. degree in accounting, and a graduate of Cardozo Law, Yeshiva University, New York, New York, with a J.D. degree.
