Rich Cropper has joined Forvis Mazars LLP, one of the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States, as a principal with the firm’s assurance team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In his new role with Forvis Mazars, Cropper will focus on providing audit services to SEC-registered and international bank clients. He will also focus on U.S. banking regulatory requirements and reporting for middle-market and global banks, risk and control framework optimization, and internal audit outsourcing.
Cropper has more than 16 years of experience leading audits for clients in the financial services industry across the UK, EU, and United States. He has worked with numerous global, super-regional, and middle-market banks during his career, and specializes in the audit of SEC filers. In his former role, Cropper spent two years focusing on improving audit quality and the continuing development of an audit firm’s systems of quality control, audit methodology, and its interaction with the PCAOB. He has broad banking experience through his work with global and local institutions, providing consulting services to Treasury, Regulatory, Finance, Compliance, and Internal Audit groups throughout his career.
“Rich’s years of experience with financial institutions, as well as his deep understanding of complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters, will be a tremendous asset to our clients and the firm,” said Keith Giddens, managing partner for the Charlotte practice unit at Forvis Mazars. “I look forward to seeing how he helps strengthen our team in an ever-changing regulatory landscape.”
“Adding Rich to our team further enhances the scale of our service offerings for a wide range of clients, from those with global operations to the middle-market,” said Ashley Ensley, partner and leader of the firm’s national Financial Services Practice.
“I’m excited to join Forvis Mazars and help the firm continue to grow in the Charlotte market as well as nationally and globally,” Cropper said. “I am ready to work with clients to help them unlock their full potential by leveraging my technical and international experience to bolster their success.”
